What does Get-Member tell you?
Documentation: Microsoft Learn
Get-Member reveals an object's type, properties, and methods — check you can read what it reports.
Overview
QUIZ
Core PowerShell · Question 3 of 12
Explanation
It shows the type and members available on objects returned by a command.
Apply the reasoning
Get-Member examines the objects arriving through the pipeline and reports their type, properties and methods. Use it when a table hides a property you need, or when a method call fails because the object is different from what you expected.
Why the other choices fail
Parameter discovery belongs to Get-Help or Get-Command. Listing commands from a module is a Get-Command task. Get-Member does not convert the original result into strings. Its own output is member metadata; run the source command separately when you want to continue processing those original objects.
